  • Background check information: results of criminal history, identity verification, marital status, and other background screening conducted through a third-party consumer reporting agency, where applicable.

  • Payment and financial information: billing address, payment card details, and transaction history, collected and processed through our payment processor.

  • Communications: records of your correspondence with your matchmaker or coaching team, including notes from feedback sessions.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide matchmaking, introduction, and coaching Services;

  • Evaluate compatibility and identify potential matches;

  • Verify client identity and safety through background screening;

  • Process payments and manage your account;

  • Communicate with you about your Services, including scheduling and feedback;

  • Improve our Services and internal operations;

  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human involvement.

3. How We Share Your Information

  • Potential matches, in the form of profile information and photos, as part of the introduction process — never your full contact details, financial information, or background check results without your consent.

  • Service providers, such as background check companies, payment processors, scheduling tools, and marketing platforms, who perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your information.

  • Legal and safety purposes, where required to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of The Date Maven, our clients, or others.

  • Business transfers, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Background Check Disclosures

If we obtain a background check report about you from a third-party consumer reporting agency, we will provide you with any legally required disclosures and obtain your written authorization before doing so, separate from this Privacy Policy, in accordance with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you cancel or your Services expire, we may retain your information for a reasonable period afterward consistent with these purposes.
